As a recruitment consultant, I’ve coached countless candidates through the interview process. The key? Preparation and confidence. Here are my top tips to help you ace your next interview:

– Research the Company & Role
Employers want to see that you understand their business. Dig into their website, recent news, and culture. Align your skills with the job description to show you’re the perfect fit.

– Craft Your Personal Pitch
The classic “Tell me about yourself” question sets the tone. Keep it concise—highlight your experience, achievements, and what excites you about this role.

– Master the STAR Method
For behavioural questions (e.g., “Tell me about a time you handled a challenge”), use the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result) to structure clear, compelling answers.

– Prepare your Questions
Employers love engaged candidates. Ask about team culture, growth opportunities, or success metrics for the role—it shows genuine interest.

– Perfect Your Presence
Body language matters! Maintain eye contact, sit up straight, and project confidence—whether in person or on video. Make sure you have double checked your lighting, sound and your technology if on video prior to your interview.

– Practice, Practice, Practice!
Rehearse common interview questions out loud or with a friend. The more you practice, the more natural your responses will feel.

– Follow Up
A short, polite thank-you email after the interview can reinforce your enthusiasm and keep you top of mind. Make sure you call your recruiter straight away to give immediate feedback.I see firsthand how these steps help candidates land their dream jobs.
